With the Commonwealth Games heading to the Gold Coast in April, we are excited for crowds to see our designs displayed on racks and windows at two boutiques across the coast, expected to gain a lot of foot traffic.
Swimwear boutique Annake will have a rack of our styles amongst their collections. The store is located on the Currumbin beachfront where three Comm games events will pass by or finish; expecting crowds of up to twenty thousand a day.
The free events in Currumbin include the cycling road race, cycling time trial and the 20km race walk, which starts and finishes on Pacific Parade, right outside the store.
The walk is a 1km loop down the Parade, taking place on Sunday, April 8th, with scenic views of the coastline. The cycling race is on Saturday, April 14th and the cycling time trial will take place on Tuesday, April 10th.
With our label embracing the beach lifestyle and culture, it is an exciting opportunity for us to be featured in such a distinguished store on the beachfront.
Why Mary will also be displayed in Surfers Paradise at Destination 4217. They are featuring a number of Australian brands, hosting live entertainment and live window displays with models wearing our designs.
Our beautiful, unique designs and bold prints are sure to turn heads on such a busy street. We are excited for locals and internationals to see our collections as they fully embrace a coastal, casual lifestyle.
There will be a lot of press around at both areas. Janette Laver, our designer and owner, thinks it is incredible exposure for the brand.
“What a wonderful opportunity to get it in front of international shoppers…we are excited with anticipation of sales opportunities,” she said.
If you’re worried about grabbing a park and taking a look at Why Mary at 4217, there is free two hour parking below the store at Chevron Renaissance.
The Commonwealth Games takes place from the 4th-15th April, with events taking place across the Coast.
We are excited to have Why Mary at two incredible boutiques during the Games.
