The new season is upon us, and that means it’s time to go shopping. Yes – you definitely have an excuse this time!
The S/S17 shows were filled with exciting new trends, and different ways to style things up. The 80s dominated, stripes continued to be the most popular print, and the colour pink is certainly having its moment in the spotlight.
Whatever your personal style may be, there’s a trend you can make your own.
Everything you need to know is condensed into our top 10 list below.
- Ruffles
The more ruffles, the better! These were seen across dresses, skirts, blouses, and even swimwear. If the thought of an all over ruffled item scares you, opt for an item of clothing with a small detail on the sleeve.
- Bralettes
A bralette doesn’t mean you have to have a lot of skin on show. You can layer yours over a t-shirt for a casual day look, or throw over a sheer blouse or blazer for a killer evening outfit.
- Pink
As we already mentioned – it doesn’t matter what shade takes your fancy; pink is THE colour of the season.
- The Eighties!
Think sequins, metallic, tailored dressing, and power shoulders. The louder, the better.
- Statement sleeves
Whether they’re cropped, bunched, oversized, fluted, ruffled, or even bell shaped – sleeves are having their moment.
- Sheer fabrics & layering
Lace, tulle, and chiffon graced the catwalks in a variety of shapes and sizes. Our sunset printed chiffon skirt is the perfect way to dip your toes into this trend
- Stripes
Stripes in a variety of colours, lengths, and patterns were prominent this season. They are so simple to work into your existing wardrobe, and the Breton striped top remains a classic wardrobe staple.
- White dresses
White was another colour that dominated the catwalk. Floaty, chiffon maxi dresses took inspiration from beachwear, with a glam eveningwear twist.
- Pyjama dressing
For those of you who put comfort and ease at the forefront of your wardrobe choices – the pyjama trend was made for you.
- Hourglass silhouettes
Whether you opt for a wrap dress, a high waist skirt or pair of trousers, or you simply use a belt to nip you in – make sure you’re drawing attention to that waist of yours!
